Legend of the Seahorse by moondancedryad on Flickr.Via Flickr:For millions of years I have roamed the Earth’s oceans…
With my spirit I symbolize creativity, imagination, good luck, fatherhood, vigilance, grace, confidence and the power of the ocean…
An attribute of the sea god Neptune and Poseidon…I’m forever a symbol of strength, a ruler of the sea…
I’m a good luck charm in Chinese cultures…
With my mystical powers, the Celts still revere me for my forbearance…
I carried the souls of deceased ancient sailors to the underworld , giving them safe passage and protection until they met their soul’s destination….
When not in my home of sea grasses, I pull the chariot of Poseidon across the ocean, in reality and in dreams…

The beautiful green anole, also known as the Carolina anole is native to the Southeastern portion of America. Unfortunately, the invasive brown anole has depleted populations of the green anole and it isn’t as common to see them these days in the wild. I was told when I saw a green anole in the wild on our trip to Florida a couple of years back that I was lucky.
